Welcome!

 

My name is Lindsey and I teach beginning through advanced piano to preschoolers and up. My studio is located in Trempealeau, Wisconsin.

 

I started taking piano lessons when I was 9. When I became a Junior in High School I realized that my passion is playing piano and that I would love nothing more than to study piano in college. I studied at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater under Dr. Myung Hee Chung. I graduated from the UWW in 2008 with a Bachelor in Piano Performance degree. I have been teaching piano since 2007.

 

My philosophy is to teach my students to become well-rounded pianists, with a focus on proper technique, stylistic interpretation, sight-reading, and performing. I like to make lessons fun and exciting as possible. I provide "off the bench" activities and games in addition to playing piano. The current favorite game by the majority is called "Have a Hoot!" and is requested at lessons every week. One of my favorite things to offer are studio-wide challenges where students can earn prizes. 

 

Some of my students begin lessons as a requirement to play percussion in school and have the mind-set of "why do I have to do this?!". And guess what? In a couple of weeks it becomes something they take pride in doing. Pretty cool if you ask me!
